Did you know that only two years ago, there wasn't a day dedicated to Early Years Teachers?!

To recognise the invaluable role Early Years Teachers play in nurturing young minds, Best Practice Network created National Early Years Teacher Day. On this special day, let's take a moment to show our appreciation for the hard work and commitment of Early Years Teachers across the country. The initiative is supported by The Department for Education and many other influential partners from the sector.

A Time to Shine: Recognising Talent and Dedication

Thanks to everyone who took the time to nominate a very special Early Years Teacher in their setting for the prestigious National Early Years Teacher of the Year Awards 2024! This year we were flooded with nominations and the judges felt that all submissions were outstanding! It was a hard task to name only a handful of national winners that's why to celebrate all nominees, we have posted nomination certificates to their settings. Look out for the postman!

The first five years are crucial for a child's development, and Early Years Teachers are there to ensure they get the best possible start. They create nurturing environments filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and build essential life skills. They play a pivotal role in building a strong foundation for lifelong learning by:
