What inspired you to start an Apprenticeship?

"I started as an Early Years Practitioner as I would like to build my confidence and leadership skills. I am now a Room Leader for the baby room. My apprenticeship is helping me to shape my career in Early Years."

What do you love most about working in Early Years?

"I chose this path because I love working with children and I want to make a difference in their early development. Watching young children grow, learn, and develop new skills is incredibly rewarding for me."

What accomplishment are you most proud of and why?

"Early childhood work is a rewarding and meaningful profession that involves shaping and moulding our 'tiny humans' into future leaders. My profession is an expressive part of my life, and it drives me daily. I love waking up, entering the setting, and seeing the universe through the eyes of young children."

In your opinion, what are the benefits of an Apprenticeship?

"Hands-on experience, such as learning how to support children’s development in a practical setting, whilst being able to earn while you learn. Career progression to build key skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, safeguarding, and child development that are essential for a career in childcare. Employers often prefer candidates with practical experience."

What skills have you developed during your time as an Apprentice?

"Childcare and development skills, communication skills, safeguarding, health & safety, leadership skills, building confidence, teamwork and collaboration, patience and problem-solving skills, managing responsibilities efficiently in a busy setting, and creativity and engagement skills."

What advice would you give to someone thinking of applying for an Apprenticeship?

"An Apprenticeship will be a great fit for whoever is looking to be able to earn while learning!"
