Tell us about yourselves

The Golden Thread Teaching School Hub is based in The West Midlands, specifically Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire. 

Why did you choose Best Practice Network?

Best Practice Network have a really comprehensive programme that fully covers all the Teacher Standards over two year ECT Induction. The training material includes a range of scenarios all based in different school settings which really helps mentors personalise the training for their ECT.

What do you think about the latest ECF changes? 

The latest changes have been really positive as ECTs and mentors are having additional time attending Face-to-Face training and fewer online sessions meaning more great opportunities to network and share ideas with other ECTs and mentors.

What advice would you give to Early Career Teachers? 

Really make the most of your time as an ECT by using your additional release time to observe other teachers across your school as you don’t get this time again. Make sure you attend your face-to-face sessions so that you can meet other ECTs to share good practice and support one another.
