The ECF School Dashboard explained

The ECF School Dashboard explained

Ensuring that your ECTs and Mentors are making the most of their assigned training is a vital step in monitoring their continued development and making sure that they are progressing through their ECF journey. In this post we’ll be explaining how important using the School Dashboards is for Headteachers and Induction Tutors in successfully supporting their staff during their ECF.

Check out our video guide

Please watch our video guide, which gives a step by step tour on how to use the School Dashboard effectively.

What is the Dashboard and why does it matter?

The School Dashboard is a user-friendly way for Headteachers and Induction Tutors to view all their ECTs and respective Mentors enrolment details, Canvas engagement and importantly their programme schedules. Keeping track of this information is fundamental in ensuring that the ECT is making the most out of their training. Without using our Dashboard, you will be unable to track who in your school has registered for ECF and whether they have completed or started the programme. We actively encourage Induction Tutors and School Leads to take advantage of this resource.

Key benefits

All Induction Tutors and Headteachers are able to:

  • Monitor ECT / Mentor enrolment to ensure all participants from their school have registered correctly. This includes checking that they are enrolled onto the correct intake and ensuring their DfE profile matches.
  • Download latest copies of their ECT/Mentor programme schedules to support with engagement, workload planning and staff cover.
  • Review individual participants Canvas engagement to ensure accurate engagement has been recorded.
  • Use our new marking tool to state if a participants has 'attended an event or watched an event recording'.
  • Access the latest Newsletters, policies and guidance.

How it works

Once signed up, all Headteachers and Induction Tutors will receive an email with unique logins allowing them access to our School Dashboard. Upon logging in they will be greeted with three options: ECTs and Mentors, Your School and Notifications. This will look exactly like the screenshot shown below.

Dashboards home page

ECTs and Mentors

Here you will find a list of all of the ECTs and Mentors registered at your school. You can review their enrolment progress with the DfE as well as their group status and intake. Clicking into individual profiles will take you through to a detailed schedule of their ECF training. You also have the option to export the schedule to ensure your ECT/Mentor is attending the correct events. Additionally, we have now introduced a new tool to ensure Induction Tutors keep on top of their ECTs and Mentors engagement. Induction Tutors now have the authority to mark engagement for events attended and video's watched. You can also keep track of your ECTs and Mentors Canvas engagement to ensure they are fully interacting with the programme.

Your School

Here you can find direct links to the DfE Online Service, to amend and register further ECTs and Mentors . You can also find other resources such as up-to-date Newsletters, key ECF policies and guidance for both ECTs and Mentors.

Notifications

Here you will be able to see any alerts or any updates to the programmes to keep you informed. Once notified of any changes from schools about their ECTs and Mentors, we are able to action specific requests and make any necessary updates.
