Financial remuneration for schools

Grants of up to £28,000 are available to contribute to trainee secondary teacher salaries depending on subject. £240/month per trainee teacher payable to host schools

Mentor Grants

Host schools are eligible for up to £1072 per mentor trained through the programme. Host schools are eligible for up to £1072 per mentor trained through the programme.

Salaried

Schools must pay apprentice teachers on the unqualified teacher pay scale.  N/A

Contrasting School Placement

Apprentice teachers complete a 6-week placement at a contrasting school. Trainee teachers complete a 6-week placement at a contrasting school. 

Programme Duration

12 months training + up to 3 months End-point Assessment (EPA).

Schools employ the apprentice for the duration of the programme.

12 month programme duration.

Main school will host the trainee for up to 30 weeks.

Outcomes

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Level 6 Teacher Apprenticeship Standard assessed by the Coventry University Group Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
