Partner Spotlight: ConnectEd Partnership

Partner Spotlight: ConnectEd Partnership

Every month we showcase one of our delivery partners who help us develop, deliver and facilitate our programmes across the country. This month, we caught up with ConnectEd Partnership!

Where are you based?

We are based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands and are an organisation which serves our partnership schools from Wolverhampton and beyond. Many of our Trusts have schools from Staffordshire, Worcestershire and even Yorkshire!

Why did you choose Best Practice Network?

We have been working with BPN as a core delivery partner for over 10 years. We chose them due to their reputation and the support offered.

We have a designated partnerships manager Xanthe, who is fabulous and gives us great advice and is always on the end of the phone to make sure that things run smoothly.

We feel that we can maintain our autonomy within a trusted framework of materials and programmes that serve our schools well. The training offered has been exemplary for facilitators and prepared us for the revised NPQs and ECF programmes.

We have been consulted every step of the way as we embark upon new CPD programmes together and are involved in discussions and development through the close working relationships we have developed.

What do you think about the latest ECF changes?

The latest changes have streamlined the programme. With us delivering induction sessions as well has meant that we can support our schools through the programme more easily.

It’s been easier to increase attendance to events as they are now less frequent but for a longer session and this seems to suit the programme better. The spiral delivery works well and the new stretch and challenge materials as well as the podcasts have been very well received. Overall the revisions have been very positive.

What advice would you give to Early Career Teachers?

We would say to embrace the training opportunity offered through the BPN programme. It’s high quality, founded in research and provides an invaluable opportunity to network with others from a wide variety of school settings.

This is something unique for a CPD programme to offer. It builds seamlessly from ITT training and the stretch materials in the programme cater well for those colleagues who come to their Induction with experience in schools already.

BPN provide a school to school visit in summer of year 2, the only ECF training provider to do this, and this has been a very valuable learning opportunity which has also enabled partnerships between colleagues and between schools to flourish.
